Monthly Wellness Check for a World Gone Mad

I feel like life is a constant balancing act. Working to live centered, in gratitude and health, and then finding your way back to yourself when you inevitably get knocked off course. It could be over scheduling oneself, political news, the challenges of entrepreneurship or challenging client work.
When I was in a very dark period in my 30’s I found having a post it “Toolkit“ of simple things to help me come back to myself was a lifesaver. Fortunately I am in a much better place, but no surprise I remain a visual person, and the world is getting crazier by the day. So I recently made this list for myself and tacked it to the fridge.

  • Am I eating real food; fruit, veg, nuts and lots of protein? (And loads of water.)

  • Am I getting out into nature daily?

  • Am I prioritizing exercise and mental health (Insight Timer)

  • Am I seeing friends and being a human out in the world?

  • Am I keeping up the practice of Morning pages? (from the Artists Way)

  • Am I prioritizing work which is away from my computer?

  • Am I giving my creativity freedom to play and be big?

  • Am I connecting with others in person to collaborate ideate or grow??

  • Am I waiting for permission from others to do work I am passionate about, or am I finding ways to do it myself? (i.e. create my own momentum, like the theory of dating.)

  • Am I prioritizing filing up my cup and seeking at creative inspiration out in the world? (Consumption or purely digital exploration doesn’t count)

  • Am I getting away from work and doing to just be a human in the world; spend time in nature, with pets, and friends, observing lives gifts etc.

This is my list. What’s on your list!?
